The Goat Mafia's stance on Birria is firm and backed by history. They believe that the original way is slowly fading through the popular Birria inspired beef version. Los Angeles is their home, and not many Mexican Americans have a direct connection to Mexico like they do. Their goal is to preserve the roots and history that their food has and share that with younger generations.
The Goat Mafia's Birria comes from a recipe that can be dated back to 100+ years. It’s roots are in Jalisco, passed down from generation to generation and they take pride in keeping it 100% original. They like to say “Si no es de Chivo no es Birria”. As traditional as their Birria may be, this doesn't stop them from creating the contemporary dishes with Mexican flavors you'll find at Goat Mafia.
